Kinderkool Internship
Hillel at Miami is looking for two caring, creative, and dynamic student (or professional) educators to co-teach a Jewish Topics* and Basic Hebrew Language Childrens' Program for the Oxford Community.
The Basics:
Class Size: Eleven children, ages 3 - 11.
Class Times: Three Saturdays OR Sundays (TBD) per month at 10:30 AM - 11:50 AM.
Program Dates: September 2010 - Mid May 2011
The Program: The educators will work with Rabbi Rachel Gartner and Oxford community volunteers to design and implement a program with lots of hands-on crafts, interaction among students, group projects, differentiated learning and the like.
Salary commensurate with experience.
The Oxford Jewish Community is a small, eclectic warm and energetic group! We hail from Conservative, Reconstructionist, Reform, Humanist and Secular backgrounds and welcome enthusiastic, responsible and creative candidates from all backgrounds who have some familiarity with Jewish tradition and culture.
*Jewish Topics will likely include things like: Jews around the World; Shomrim Adamah - Our Responsibility to the Earth; Ben Adam L'Chavero - Our Responsibility to One Another; Tikkun Olam - Service Projects in Oxford or Cinci; Jewish Stories - From Biblical to I.B. Singer; Jewish Music - Ancient to Contemporary; Jewish Foods (cooking); Israeli Dancing.
