Welcome to Hillel at Miami University of Ohio! It is my honor and pleasure, as the new Executive Director of Hillel at MU, to have the opportunity to work and grow with your student. I have already met many of the Jewish Students at Miami and we all agree.... working together we are going to have a fantastic year!
Our goal is to build relationships, support each other on our individual Jewish Journeys, and help each other explore and discover what it means to be distinctly Jewish and universally human. We are committed to Jewish peoplehood and the world, learning from one another, and creating and extending community.
We look forward to establishing a relationship with you too and truly value your partnership in your student's educational process. Parents Place our quarterly publication to parents of current MU students - allows Hillel to share the exciting opportunities afforded to the Jewish students at MU as well as the endeavors they choose to pursue. Shabbat
Every Friday, we open our doors to the Miami Students and Community for services and a free, home-cooked Kosher dinner. All are welcome.
CHillel & Blanket Buddies
We are open every Sunday afternoon. Students love to come and do homework, socialize, or both. The primary focus is Blanket Buddies, a program where we sew simple quilts to donate to the children at the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House. Last year we donated over 35 quilts!
Black - Jewish Dialogues
In November we are collaborating with other student organizations to bring wonderful sketch artists who compare the surprisingly similar history of Blacks and Jews by portraying the essence of prejudice.
Hot Topics
Students come together to discuss Jewish topics most pertinent to them. Topics include: women in Judaism, body piercings and tattoos, the afterlife, and much more.
Israeli Festival
Students will be leaning about Israel throug Israeli Music, Danc, Food, and Games!
