Internship Opportunities
|
|
|
Join the dynamic and innovation Hillel team through the new 2009-2010 Internship program.
Creative Design Internship:
This intern would be primarily responsible for making Hillel appealing
and exciting to the Miami campus by utilizing a range of media and
technology. Their responsibilities would include advertising for events
(facebook, e-mail, etc) and creating marketable resources for new and
current students about Jewish life at Miami (a brochure, YouTube video,
etc). Any additional responsibilities are at the discretion of our
director, Rabbi Rachel Gartner. Facility with e-communication required.
Someone with experience working in graphic design, or art is preferable
but not required.
Director's Assistant:
The
Assistant to the Director is a "jack/jacqueline of all trades" insofar
as this intern will be working closely with the director to aid in
whatever need to be done. The variety of responsibilities range from
aiding in fundraising, reaching out and engaging with Jewish students
on a personal level, assisting with special projects, or delivering
soup or care packages to sick students. Any additional responsibilities
are at the discretion of our director, Rabbi Rachel Gartner. This
person does it all! Experience in Giftworks a plus.
Engagement:
In the absence of a JCSC fellow this year, Hillel is in need of an
outgoing, energetic student who will be primarily responsible for
engaging and contacting Jewish students at Miami. Their
responsibilities would include having regular hours for tabling or
coffee uptown in order to talk with students and encourage programming,
as well as being present at all Hillel events unless there is an urgent
conflict. Any additional responsibilities are at the discretion of our
director, Rabbi Rachel Gartner.
Special Projects (Mini Internships):
A new and exciting idea this year invented by our very own director!
Hillel is looking special project interns from a variety of
backgrounds. Each intern will put together a program based on his or
her interests. An example could be a Literature major bringing in a
Jewish author to give a talk about a recent book, an art student could
create an exhibit of his/her work in our building, a business major
could give a talk on business ethics and Jewish text or a band could
have a rock concert in our backyard with Israeli music. The options are
endless! There will be a second application for all program proposals.
In addition, each student selected will receive a $100 budget to
complete his or her program as well as $200 compensation.
Click here for the application and here for the Special Projects application (Special Projects Applicants, please be sure to download both documents)
Applications available online at muhillel.org and are due Oct 2.
