We all love Kosher food, so why not come hang out with friends, and now that it's warmer...Let's smoke some Hookah! And what food do jews love? Bagels! Come join us at Hillel at 7:30 on Tuesday, April 8th at Hillel.
 
Passover shopping trip to Bigg's in Mason on Wednesday, April 9. Meet at Shriver at 5pm. Grab some dinner in the food court and then leave for Bigg's around 6:30pm.
 
Secular Student Association's Round Table to increase awareness, understanding, and acceptance for people holding secular world views will take place on Thursday, April 10th at 6pm in 102 Bachelor.
 
The application to be next year's President is now available onlineApplications are due TODAY Monday, April 7th. Candidates will be posted on our website by Wednesday, April 16. Voting will take place Wednesday, April 16-Wednesday, April 23. 
Speaker - Can Secular Jews Connect With Israel?
Dr. Mark Raider speaks about "Hayim Greenberg, Secular Thinker, Zionist Leader"

You are invited to hear guest speaker Mark Raider on Thursday, 4/10 at 12:30 p.m. in Irvin Hall 40 speak about Hayim Greenberg<Secular Thinker, Zionist Leader.

Hayim Greenberg (1889-1953) was a complex figure, a Zionist leader who stood at the center of revolutionary trends in Jewish life. This talk seeks to unravel the mystery of Greenberg by examining the main contours of his thought and investigating his impact on American Jewish life and the Zionist movement.

MARK A. RAIDER is Professor of Modern Jewish History and Head of the Department of Judaic Studies at the University of Cincinnati, where he holds The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati Endowed Chair in Judaic Studies. Dr. Raider serves as Co-Director of the University's Center for Studies in Jewish Education and Culture and is an Affiliate Faculty Member in the Department of History. He is also Visiting Professor of American Jewish History at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

FREE Dinner & Services Every Week
You are invited to our weekly Shabbat experience. Student led services begin at 6 pm and FREE dinner is at 7 pm. All are welcome for either services, dinner or both.

Passover Begins Next Saturday!
You are invited to celebrate Passover with Miami's Jewish community. Join us for one or both seders and meals during the week of Passover.

Passover begins with 1st seder on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Hillel. Second seder will also be at Hilel on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Brunches will be daily from 4/20-4/27 between 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Dinner will be daily from 4/21-4/26 between 5:00-7:30 p.m. except for Friday night, 4/25 when dinner will be at 7:00 p.m. (and free, thanks to the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati).

Cost for seders are $18 each per person if reserved by Wednesday 4/16, $20 at the door. Brunch is $5 each per person reserved by 4/16 and $6 at the door. Dinner is $7 each meal per person when reseved by 4/16 and $8 at the door. Shabbat dinner on 4/25 is free. Scholarships are available, please contact Amy for confidental arrangements. Reservations can be made at Hillel or online. For online reservations, please download and complete the Passover Reservation form and email/send it to Hillel. Then please go to the online payment/donation page, put the dollar amount in the "donation amount" box and select your Passover choice.  Thanks!

Stop the Hate! Rally

Join us for a candlelit march beginning at 6pm Uptown Park on Tuesday, April 15. As we march around campus, we will be sharing stories of global and local religious intolerance but also of inter-religious cooperation in an effort to raise awareness about the challenges of religious pluralism.

This event is a part of Interfaith Awareness Week at Miami University.  For additional information, visit the official University calendar.
