Constitution Update: The Constitution that was previously passed by the 2006-2007 Executive Board was ratified by the AJS Body on 11/27/07. The new Consitution can be viewed online.

Spa Night and Fundraiser at the Phi Delt Gates
Thursday, December 6-Spa Night with Lights on Campus
Join us on Thursday, December 6th from 9pm-midnight at Lights on Campus for a night of FREE relaxation.  We will be offering free massages, yoga classes, tai chi classes, paraffin wax hand treatments, movies, food, and community engagement projects and food.  For more information, talk to Elizabeth Gartenberg.
 
Saturday, December 8- Fundraiser at the Phi Delt Gates from 11pm-3am
We need your help to sell cookies, hot chocolate, and Miami-in-hebrew t-shirts to raise money for programming. For more information, talk to Josh Oberndorf, VP of Finance. 
 
For all of those interested in helping bake, we will be cooking dinner and preparing the baked goods beginning at 8pm at Jenny's apartment.  Please contact her for directions.

"Light up the Night!"
Light Channukah candles, get some chocolate gelt and enter in Hillel's Channukah Raffle at different dining halls on campus almost every night!  For more info see below or contact Dave at fellow@muhillel.org.

Monday, December 10- Midnight Study Breakfast at Hillel
The building will be open all night with food service from 10pm-1am. Breakfast will include latkes, waffles, bagels, and more!  Come eat some food then find a quiet, comfertable place to study in our building (we have Wifi and are right near Starbucks!).
Shabbat Experience at Miami
FREE Dinner & Services Every Week
You are invited to our weekly Shabbat experience. Student led services begin at 6 pm and FREE dinner is at 7 pm. All are welcome for either services, dinner or both. This will be the last Shabbat of the semester. The theme is Chanukah.

Clothing Drive to Benefit the Oxford Family Resource Center and Heart-to-Heart
AJS and Lights on Campus are running a clothing drive to benefit the Oxford Family Resource Center. Please drop off your donations (clothing and small items) to the drop boxes inside Hillel or Campus Ministry Center. We will accept donations from now until the end of the semester. For more information, talk to Jenny.
 
Jewish Literature Book Discussion Series- Bee Season by Myla Goldberg
December 9 at 4:00 p.m. in 320 King Library.  Discussion will be led by Amy Greenbaum. Free snacks and beverages provided. Contact Frances Yates via email or 513-529-3340 for a free book.  Hosted by Miami University Libraries in cooperation with Miami University Women's Center, Hillel, and Oxford Lane Library.  Funded by Nextbook and the American Library Association.
Informal Jewish  Learning at Hillel
Expand your Jewish knowledge while at Miami by participating in informal Jewish learning.
 
Torah Chanting/B'nai Mitzvah Classes Coming Soon!
Would you like to learn how to chant Torah? What about becoming bar or bat mitzvah at Hillel?  (While many become b'nai mitzvah at 13, it is possible later as well.) Email Amy, our Director and Rabbinic Resource with the best day/time for your schedule.

Every Wednesday - Discovering Judaism
Learn about Judaism from an Orthodox rabbi from Cincinnati Kollel. Free dairy dinner and informal class at Hillel each Wednesday at 7:15 pm.
Scholarship Opportunity

The Myrtis H. Powell Scholarship

The Myrtis H. Powell $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time Miami University student who has exhibited leadership in creating an inclusive campus environment and has evidence of involvement in community activities.  The scholarship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students on the Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown campuses. Applications are available at the Student Financial Assistance Office on all three campuses or at www.muohio.edu/womenscenter.
