Apples and Hookah
Apple shots, hookah, and free food to celebrate the new year!

This new year's going to be different!  Instead of having just plain old apples and honey, you can have apple flavored tobacco in an awesome hookah while having sweet honey on the side to complete the deal.  Come try some on Wednesday, September 19th at Hillel from 8:30-9:30pm.
For more information contact Rebecca Silverman.

Represent Our Hillel at a Free Conference in Israel this Winter Break
Spend Winter Break in Israel Developing as a Leader and Making New Friends

Hillel's Charles Schusterman International Student Leaders Assembly will be this winter break in Israel. Our Hillel may send one representative. This representative will be selected from those who submit an application to Hillel by Monday, October 8, 2007.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1.
You are currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior at Miami University.
2.      You have traveled to Israel.
3.      You are committed to running for a leadership position with the Association of Jewish Students for the 2008 term. This is a serious commitment; do not apply if you will not follow through.
4.      You will be a matriculated student on the Oxford campus during Spring semester 2007-2008 and Fall semester 2008-2009.

What is Leaders Assembly? Leaders Assembly is the annual opportunity for emerging leaders of the Jewish student world to gather to meet, learn, celebrate, and explore leadership together. It is also the premier opportunity for talented Jewish student leaders to learn about and become ambassadors for Hillel's mission, values, and strategic goals. This year Leaders Assembly will be in Israel. Jewish students from campuses around the world will create a pluralistic and diverse community that will celebrate and reflect together on the character of Jewish life worldwide.

Going Home For Yom Kippur?
Need a Ride/Give a Ride!

Are you going home for Yom Kippur and either need a ride or can offer a ride?  If you would like help finding people to ride home with, Hillel can help!  Simply email Amy with the day and time you plan on leaving/returning, how many spots are needed/being offered, and the destination.  If there is a match, Amy will email the people in similar situations to put together a potential carpool. (Please let Amy know if you would prefer for her not to give out your contact information.) Please note: Hillel will not take responsibility for any rides, this is just a helpful service we are trying.

For more information or to submit your travel plans contact Amy (email or 523-5190 or IM WhatJewDoin1).
