Get ready to celebrate the High Holy Days with Hillel.

We will share together in meals (dinner before each night of Rosh Hashanah and before the Yom Kippur fast, lunches each day of Rosh Hashanah and FREE Break-the-Fast at the end of Yom Kippur), prayer, friendship and community. (Meals are $5 for students, $10 for community/faculty. Free with JEWLA card that also gives you discounts all year for $54.)

All services are open to the entire community. Services are free for students, $36 for community/faculty for all services.



The High Holy Days are officially recognized holidays by Miami University. Download this letter for your professors then contact Amy or Dave and they will sign it for you to help you get an excused absence from class.

Taglit-birthright israel: Hillel!
Your birthright - a FREE trip to Israel

Travel to Israel for FREE with Hillel this Winter Break or Spring Break.
Spend an incredible 10 days in Israel with us.  The trip is a gift from Taglit-birthright israel and is available to all Jews age 18-26 (unless you traveled to Israel with your peers).

FREE lunch and sign-up party Wedesday 9/5 from 11-1:30 at Hillel. Come visit our Camel at Hillel on Wednesday from 11-12:30.

Registration begins THIS WEDNESDAY, September 5th, at 9 am. Contact Dave Furman (523-5190 or fellow@muhillel.org) for more information, to check on your eligibility or to chat over some free ice cream or coffee.

Free Shabbat Dinner & Shabbat Services

You are invited to our weekly Shabbat experience. Student led services begin at 6 pm and FREE dinner is at 7 pm. All are welcome for either services, dinner or both.

See your friends, enjoy free food, and celebrate Shabbat!

Get Informed, Meet New Friends, Enjoy Free Food

Free Coldstone ice cream!

Are you a first year student? If so, Hillel invites you to enjoy free Coldstone ice cream on Monday September 10, 2007,  at 7:00 pm at Coldstone. Hillel will treat you to a  "like it" ice cream. Questions? Talk to Dave Furman (523-5190 or fellow@muhillel.org).

Interested in playing broomball on the Hillel team this fall? If so, email Michael Charnay, Sports Chair, by September 6th.
Going Home For The Holidays?
Need a Ride/Give a Ride!

Are you going home for either Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur and either need a ride or can offer a ride?  If you would like help finding people to ride home with, Hillel can help!  Simply email Amy with the day and time you plan on leaving/returning, how many spots are needed/being offered, and the destination.  If there is a match, Amy will email the people in similar situations to put together a potential carpool. (Please let Amy know if you would prefer for her not to give out your contact information.) Please note: Hillel will not take responsibility for any rides, this is just a helpful service we are trying.

Diversity Consortium for Students and Faculty
at Slippery Rock University Thurs. Nov 1- Sat. Nov 3
 
The theme for this year is "A Call to ACTION." The conference is at Slippery Rock University Thursday, November 1- Saturday, November 3.  The registration fee is $75 for students before Oct 1 and $125 after Oct 1. 

This conference is designed for students of color andtheir allies to come together to address issues pertinent to their success at predominantely white colleges.
