Passover Information
 
Celebrate Passover with the Jewish Community at Miami!

Passover Seders

First Night Seder is Monday, April 2, 2007, 7pm at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (next door to Hillel) on the corner of Poplar & Walnut. This first seder will be a special opportunity for the entire community to share in one community seder led by students. All food will be strictly kosher for Passover with vegan options available. All are welcome. Please see cost/RSVP information below.

Second Night Seders are Tuesday, April 3, 2007, 7pm at Hillel. Two student-led seders will be available, a traditional style seder in the Hillel Library and a community seder in the dining room. All food will be strictly kosher for Passover with vegan options available. All are welcome. Please see cost/RSVP information below.

Cost of each seder is $18 in advance, $20 at the door, 40% discount for JEWLA Card holders. To RSVP complete the sign up sheet and bring it to Hillel or contact Amy (director@muhillel.org or 513-523-5190)

Passover Meals

Eat at Hillel during Passover. Hillel will be offering daily brunch & dinner during Passover. Brunch will be served from 10:30 am - 2 pm daily beginning on April 3rd through April 10th. Dinner will be served from 5:00 - 7:30 pm daily beginning on April 4th through April 9th.

What do the meals cost? When reserved in advance (by Friday, March 30, 2007) brunch is $5 each and dinner is $7 each. (JEWLA Card holders get a 40% discount.) At the door, brunch is $6 each and dinner is $8 each. RSVP on the sign up sheet and bring it to Hillel or speak with Amy (523-5190, director@muhillel.org).

What is the menu? All meals are strictly kosher. Lunches will be dairy and include such items as tuna or egg salads, cheese and fruit, cottage cheese, veggies, matzah pizza or fried matzah, drinks and sweets. Dinners may offer turkey, brisket, meatloaf, salmon patties, baked or barbecued chicken, soups, salad, potatoes and veggies. Menus subject to change. Do you have a special request? See Amy, Zarra or Paula. Please note that Miami University provides Kosher products and Kosher for Passover style options throughout campus. Refer to Dining Services for more information.

Fondue Me and Tower Players!
On Thursday, April 5 at Hillel we will be dipping marshmallows, fruits, and tam-tams into dark chocolate (kosher for passover) during dinner. Immediately after we will have a performance by the Tower Players in our living room (~7pm). For more information talk to Juliana Taube.

Fun in the Sun Shabbat
We are having a special-themed Shabbat during Passover. For more information talk to Rebecca Silverman.

The Executive Board meets each week at 6:30pm Sundays at Hillel. The board meetings are open to everyone to attend.

Jewish Learning & Shabbat - FREE Dinner & Services
 
Curious about Judaism? Join us for some fun, informal learning and FREE food.

Shabbat Services and FREE dinner
Join us on Friday, Mar. 30th for student-led services at 6:00 pm and FREE dinner at 7:00. All are welcome for services, dinner or both. Dinner is free and kosher. This week's menu is chicken, pasta, vegetables, matzah ball soup, and Paula's famous brownies. Vegan option will be available as always. Come connect with old friends, meet new friends and enjoy great food! Hillel gratefully thanks the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati for sponsorship of the Shabbat Dinner Program. Questions? Intro to Judaism Class with Amy, our Director and Rabbinic Resource
Tuesday, March 27th at Hillel at 8pm come learn about the Jewish perspective on the afterlife.

Discovering Judaism
This weekly free class and free dinner will be every Monday beginning at 7:15 pm at Hillel. The next session will be Monday, 3/26. Come learn with Rabbis from the Cincinnati Kollel. This program is open to everyone, no prior knowledge required.
