A Survivor's
Tale: 1972 Munich Olympic Games Terror Survivor
Speaks Out Daniel Alon, an
Israeli Olympic athlete who survived the Munich
massacre in 1972, will speak at Miami on November
9th at 5:00 pm in Multipurpose Room C of the Shriver
Center.
The talk is free and the public is welcome.
Daniel Alon was Israel's champion fencer for many
years, representing Israel in international
competitions before the fateful trip to Munich for
the Summer Olympics, when 11 Israeli hostages were
murdered by a Palestinian terrorist Group, Black
September. For many years, Alon kept silent about
the tragedy he witnessed, but since the release of
the recent Steven Spielberg movie, 'Munich,' he has
begun to tell his story.

Planning Meeting
for Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance
Days) Want to be
involved in Yom Hashoah day(s) at Miami? Jenny Jacob
looking for a few students to help her with the
planning and coordination among several University
departments and community groups. If interested,
please come to Hillel on Monday, November 6th at
5pm
and bring with you any ideas that you may have. The
meeting will be no longer than 1 hour. For

AJS Student Board
Applications
The Association of Jewish Students (AJS) is pleased
to announce that the Student Board will hold
elections on Sunday, December 3, 2006 for the 2007
term (January-December 2007). The Student Board has
two components, the Executive Board and Program
Boards. Candidates for both boards are required to
complete applications. Direct elections are held
for the Executive Board positions (President, Vice
President of Programming, Vice President of
Communications, Vice President of Religion & Culture
and Vice President of Finance.) Applications for
the 2007 Executive Board will soon be on the Hillel
website. All are encouraged and welcome to apply.
Applications are due by Sunday, November 12th at

TLC's 'Shalom in the Home' is coming to the
Boonshoft CJCE (in Dayton) at 8pm on Sunday,

Women's Center
Weekly Resource Consultations have
begun
Every Thursday from 12:00 to 1:30p in the
Women's
Center Community Room (MacMillan 210). Dr. Jennifer
Browne will be available on Thursdays to provide
information about personal issues including
depression, anxiety, relationship problems, sexual
assault recovery, and eating disorders as well as
information on campus and community resources.
Consulting with Dr. Browne at the Women's Center is
confidential but does not constitute a counseling
relationship. Rather, it is intended to provide
information and help you get connected to campus and
community resources.

driving to Hamilton to vote provisionally at the
Butler County Board of Elections. You must bring a
form of picture ID with you. To set up a time to go

Internship Program
Open to all sophomores and juniors with a GPA of not
less than 3.3. Applicants need not be part of the
Honors Program. $3500.00 stipend is provided for 10
weeks of full-time work in Cincinnati, Cleveland,

Second Year Students. Looking for a leadership
opportunity? Apply to be the Student Member on The
Board of Trustees!
Associated Student Government (ASG) is looking for
students interested in serving as the Student Member
on Miami University's Board of Trustees, the highest
decision making body of this institution.
The Miami University Board of Trustees consists of
11 members' nine voting members and two student
nonvoting members. The nine voting members are
appointed one each year for nine-year terms by the
governor of Ohio, with advice and consent of the
Senate. The two student nonvoting members are
appointed for two-year staggered terms by the
governor, with advice and consent of the Senate.
Any first year or sophomore undergraduate student at
any campus is eligible to apply. Please visit the
student government website and submit an application
and updated resume by October 30, 2006 at NOON.
Those who have applied will be notified in early
November if they have been selected for an interview
and when their interview will occur.
The interviews will be conducted by a group called
the Executive Council. This group includes various
student leaders including representation from the
Hamilton and Middletown campuses and the two current
student trustees. Once the interviewing process is
complete, the recommendation will be sent to the
Governor to make the appointment.
