This year we are adding a program
called "The Un-Service," a program on the eve
of Yom Kippur (10/1) which
will explore some of the themes of the Holy Days.
Services are led by Amy Greenbaum, our director and
Rabbinic Resource while The Un-Service will be led
by Zarra Keith, our JCSC Fellow.
Letter to Miss
Classes on the High
Holidays
If you are planning on missing classes Yom
Kippur (Erev Sunday, October 1st; day Monday,
October 2nd), download
a letter from the website and call Hillel (Amy
or Zarra) to have one of us sign the letter. You can
bring it to a Hillel event, the office or ask us to
meet you on campus. University policy states that
the letters
are due to professors ASAP. Need a copy

The MUvement Rally '06

Eradicate intolerance, increase understanding and celebrate the magic of who we are thorugh music, art, drama, dance, and dialogue.

'06
Hillel and the Association of Jewish Students are
proud to co-sponsor Rally '06 on Saturday, Sept 30th
from 6-9 pm in Central Quad.
Everyone is invited to the Rally, hosted by The
MUvement, an organization dedicated to eradicating
intolerance, increasing understanding and
celebrating the magic of who we are thorugh music,
art, drama, dance, and dialogue. Many organizations
and groups are co-sponsoring The Rally, including
AJS & Hillel. The Rally is in memory of John T.
Petters and does not have a
political agenda.
Volunteers needed. We appreciate your help with
distributing flyers for the Rally on either 9/28 or
9/29 for one hour between 11 and 3 or on the day of

student-led services at 6:00 pm and dinner at 7:00.
All are welcome for services, dinner or both. Dinner
is free, kosher and has vegetarian options. Come
connect with old friends, meet new friends and enjoy

This weekly free class and free dinner will be every
Monday beginning at 7:15 pm at Hillel.
The next session will be in 2 weeks, Monday,
10/9. Come
learn with Rabbis from the Cincinnati Kollel. This
program is open to everyone, no prior knowledge
required. Please note: There will be no DJ
this week or next week due to holidays.

Wednesday from noon to 1 pm. Join us for a

Broomball is
here! Come cheer on Flying Chai!
This season we had enough people to form two teams.
Flying Chai B (beginner corec) has a game on
Saturday, Sept 30th at 1PM.
Flying Chai A (regular corec) has a game on
Saturday, Sept 30th at 3:05PM.
Help Wanted: Two people
needed to assemble Sukkah by October 4. Job
should
take 2-3 hours with two people working. Must be
available also to take it down some time after
Sukkot. That will also take 2-3 hours. Hours
flexible but must coordinate with each other. Pay

Volunteers needed
for RAINN Day!
The Women's Center would like volunteers to hand out
cards on campus on September 28th as part of
the Get
Carded campaign sponsored by the Rape, Abuse, and
Incest National Network (RAINN). During the Get
Carded campaign, volunteers distribute wallet-sized
cards with information about how to reduce your risk
of sexual assault and what to do if it happens to
you or someone you know. Please contact Josh at

Weekly Resource Consultations have
begun
Every Thursday from 12:00 to 1:30pm in the
Women's
Center Community Room (MacMillan 210). Dr. Jennifer
Browne will be available on Thursdays to provide
information about personal issues including
depression, anxiety, relationship problems, sexual
assault recovery, and eating disorders as well as
information on campus and community resources.
Consulting with Dr. Browne at the Women's Center is
confidential but does not constitute a counseling
relationship. Rather, it is intended to provide
information and help you get connected to campus and
community resources.
Languages
of the Middle East: Introducing Hebrew and
Arabic 2006-2007 Linguistics
Speakers Series Presented by the Linguistics Program
in the English Department at Miami University,
Co-sponsored by the Center for American and World
Studies. GREAL instructors Rachel Rachovitsky and
Saleh Yousef will discuss the languages they teach
in terms of structure, history, community use, and
their relationship to culture in the region.
Please join us for lively linguistic discussion
afterwards, over Middle Eastern food! This programw
ill take place on Wednesday, October 4th, 6-8 PM
in the Bachelor Reading Room.

Literary and Art magazine, Inklings, is currently
accepting submissions. So whether it be poetry,
prose or art - we're interested in your work! Visit our
