Welcome Back BBQ
Monday, August 21, 2006 from 5:00-7:30 pm at Cook Field
Eat a delicious free BBQ (kosher, vegetarian available) dinner, meet new friends and catch up after the summer with old friends. Enjoy music by DJ Toad and share in some games. Questions? AJS (Association of Jewish Students) Welcome Back Dinner
Thursday, August 24th will be the annual free AJS Welcome Back Dinner at Hillel at 6 pm. Come for a delicious free dinner (as always kosher with vegetarian available), good friends and more! Shabbat Services and FREE Dinner
Join us for the 1st Shabbat of the year on Friday, August 25th. We have student-led services at 6:00 pm and dinner at 7:00. All are welcome for services, dinner or both. Dinner is free, kosher and has vegetarian options. Come connect with old friends, meet new friends and let's see if we can top last year's record attendance! Hillel gratefully thanks the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati for sponsorship of the Shabbat Dinner Program. Questions? Fun FYSH Programs

Pizza Tasting!
Do you like pizza? How about FREE pizza? If you are a FYSH - meaning a first year student of Hillel - then come to Hillel on Monday, August 28th at 6 pm and eat as much free pizza as you want. We will have a selection from each of the pizza vendors in Oxford and you can discover which one is your favorite! Questions? Email Zarra or call her at 523-5190.

Ice Cream Social!
Does ice cream sound good to you? How about Coldstone ice cream? What if it is FREE Coldstone? If you are a FYSH - meaning a first year student of Hillel - then meet at Coldstone on Wednesday, September 6th at 8 pm and have some Coldstone with your friends courtesy of Hillel. Questions? Curious about Judaism? Join us for some fun, informal learning and FREE food.

Discovering Judaism
This weekly free class and free dinner will be every Monday beginning at 7:15 pm at Hillel. The first session is next Monday, 8/28. Come learn with Rabbis from the Cincinnati Kollel. This program is open to everyone, no prior knowledge required.

Lunch & Learn
Join Amy, our Director and Rabbinic Resource, for an informal discussion and free lunch every other Wednesday from noon to 1 pm. Join us for a delicious free lunch on Wednesday 8/30 at Hillel. This program is open to everyone, no prior knowledge necessary.

Staples Link program - a way to save you money.

Save money on school/office supplies
StaplesLink is an opportunity for you to save on office/school supplies. This program is an agreement between Staples and Hillel which saves Hillel & you 35-40% on office supplies (when make a purchase of at least $30) How do you take advantage of this deal? Just register. Orders through StaplesLink need to be shipped to Hillel (11 E. Walnut St., Oxford, OH 45056) and usually arrive in a day or so.


Hillel Responds to the Situation in Israel & AIPAC Event
 
Israel information and special event!

Hillel joins organizations throughout the Jewish world in a multi-faceted approach to the crisis in Israel, including information sharing, activism and ways to support those directly affected. What can you do? Do one of the 25 things you can help Israel, read Hillel's response or give to your local Federation emergency campaign.

AIPAC Community Event in Cincinnati
AIPAC invites you to a special event. Jay Footlik & Noam Neusner, former White House Jewish Liasons under Presidents Clinton and Bush will speak on "Israel and the White House: Two Presidential Aides Talk About Making Middle East Policy from Inside the West Wing" on Tuesday, August 29th at 7:30 pm. This event is FREE for Miami students and is Co-Chiared by Shelly Gerson & Gary Greenberg, parents of Miami students Alana Gerson and Eric Greenberg. Our own director, Amy is one of the hosts for the evening. Rides will be available for those who need them. Please email Shaina Rood or call Hillel for more information or to arrange for a ride. You need to RSVP to be added to the list for free admission.

Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life is the umbrella organization for Hillel's around the world. This summer is a time of transition for Hillel, as the President for the past few years, Avraham Infeld, is retiring.
