JEWS ON ICE has been great for many years, but with new students, It's time to rename our Hillel broomball team to reflect who we are. Jewish Life in Germany & Vienna After the Holocaust"
A discussion on this topic will be led by Nachson ben-Asher, a senior at Miami. Information is based on experiences of Holocaust survivors who were recently interviewed as part of a class trip to Germany & Vienna. Main question they answered is, "How do they reconcile their Jewish and national identities." Discussion will be on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 5:00 pm in 116 Culler (watch the Hillel website for location confirmation.) Questions? Email Nachshon.

Fundamentals of Judaism taught by Amy Greenbaum, our Director & Rabbinic Resource. Amy offers informal, discussion oriented classes on Jewish topics.

Stop the Hate Rally and March
Wednesday, April 5th at 7:30 starting at Uptown Park we will gather and begin with a student introduction and prayers from local clergy and religious leaders. We will then march with candles from Uptown, around campus, and ending at the Hub. As we march, we will pause to listen to stories of religious discrimination from around campus. We will end at the hub with a closing prayer.
This event is intended to bring together people from across our community in support of religous diversity. It is not always easy to be someone from a religious minority on this campus and in this community. Discrimination happens, but often in little ways that do not make the news or catch anyone's attention. This event is intended to bring awareness of these issues to our community and work to prevent discrimination from happening.
We envision a campus and community where everyone and anyone can practice their religion, spirituality or beliefs freely, and where religious diversity enriches everyone's experiences.
Please pass this information along! Come to the rally and bring friends!
