Purim Party
Plan to join us for an early Purim party on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:30 pm. We will have dinner (free as always) make & eat hametaschen (that funny triangular cookie) and have fun. Questions? Email Amy.

Free trip to ISRAEL
Just by being Jewish and between the ages of 18-26, you can go to Israel for FREE. Join us this summer! Who qualifies? If you haven't been to Israel on a peer trip, then you do! Come travel Israel with Hillel this summer as on a Taglit-birthright israel: Hillel campus trip. Registration is closing March 8th. For questions, email or call Jeremy 523-5190. Jeremy will be tabling at SHriver Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Come find him to make a Mishloach Manot (food gift) to give to one of your friends in celebration of Purim.

Broomball
Jews on Ice is excitedly getting ready for the new broomball season. Join us for Miami's most popular intramural sport. We need you!

Need Volunteer Hours?
Come volunteer with us at Cedar Village, a Jewish retirement home in Mason, on Sunday, March 26th from 1-4:30pm. We will visit with the residents and participate in activities. Amy will sign any form you may need to validate your hours for your organization, or just come for fun! You must RSVP for this program, and drivers are needed! To RSVP or for more information email Jenny.

March Madness Pool
Attention Miami Students... In less than two weeks, the Men's Division 1 College Basketball Tournament is beginning. This year, Hillel will be having a pool for the tournament. The tournament starts on Thursday March 16, 2006. There is no fee required or accepted to enter this pool and the winners will receive gift certificates to shops uptown. Please check the Hillel website for up-to-date announcements. If you have any questions, please contact Dan Fuerman.

Leadership
AJ S (Association of Jewish Students) Exec Board meets on Thursdays at 7 pm at Hillel. All are welcome to attend the meetings. If you have an item which you would like added to the agenda, please email Rachel Cahn by Wednesday night.


Shabbat & Jewish Learning Programs
 

Shabbat
Friday, March 17th, all welcome. Weekly Shabbat Services and free Shabbat Dinner at Hillel. (Services at 6 pm, dinner at 7 pm.) Dinner supported by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. All welcome. For questions or more information, email Ilya Verzub or Rosie Landau. NOTE THERE WILL BE NO SERVICES THIS WEEK DUE TO SPRING BREAK.

Jewish Learning
Discovering Judaism weekly discussion & free dinner with Cinicnnati Kollel, Mondays at 7:15 at Hillel.
Fundamentals of Judaism taught by Amy Greenbaum, our Director & Rabbinic Resource. Amy offers informal, discussion oriented classes on Jewish topics. Next class: Jews in North America for 350 Years? Yes!, Thursday, March 23rd at Hillel at 6:30 pm (discussion & free dinner).
Weekly Torah Discussion every Friday at 2:30 at Hillel. Join Amy for an informal chat about this week's section of the Torah/Bible. All welcome.

Book Discussion
Jewish Literature Series: discussion of Out of Egypt by Andre Aciman Monday, March 6th at 7 pm at Lane Library, snacks provided. Discussion led by Dr. Claire Goldstein. For questions or to get a copy of the book, email Frances Yates.
