AIPAC POLICY CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. MARCH 5-7
Join members of the pro-Israel community in Washington, DC, on March 5-7 for AIPACs 46th Annual Policy Conference. Five thousand activists representing every state, including more than 800 students, faculty and campus professionals, participate in this three-day conference. Delegates hear from leading congressional leaders, top Bush administration officials and dignitaries from the Israeli government. The conference culminates in a trip to Capitol Hill, where delegates meet with their members of Congress to advocate for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. Availability will be limited for this premier event, and priority will be given to those actively involved in implementing AIPACs agenda on campus. OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR AWARD
Sniors are encouraged to nominate their favorite teachers for the Outstanding Professor Award. This award is sponsored by ASGs Academic Affairs Coalition. Every professor nominated, as well as the student who submitted the application are invited to a banquet honoring these exemplary staff members. The dinner will be held at the Heritage Room on Wednesday, March 29th, 2006. Applications are available on ASGs website: www.muohio.edu/asg. Gulf Coast Volunteer Opportunities
In the wake of the 2005 Gulf Coast Hurricanes, millions of people have donated time and money to make the lives of those affected a little bit better. Working in conjunction with local agencies and synagogues, the Unions Disaster Relief Fund has made funds available for the Jackson, MS and New Orleans Jewish communities to hire a volunteer coordinator to assist with placing volunteers. In Jackson, much of the work will be in resettlement of those from some of the hardest hit regions of Mississippi. The work needed in New Orleans will consist primarily of storm clean up and pre-construction work on existing structures. CAC Kidsfest is looking for volunteers to help with their "Soak Up the Fun... Dive into Miami Beach program" on Saturday April 8th. NUJLS QUEER JEWISH STUDENT CONFERENCE
NUJLS is a group of college students, alumni, and other young people from across North America and around the world who, since 1998, have held an annual conference on issues negotiated by Jewish LGBTIQQ communities. The annual NUJLS Conference is taking place this year at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut between March 31st and April 2nd. The conference registration fee is $80, but scholarships are readily available. Additionally, NUJLS is pleased to offer travel subsidies to those in need and housing for all conference attendees.
