FREE TRIP TO ISRAEL!!!
Just by being Jewish and between the ages of 18-26, you can go to Israel for FREE. If you haven’t been to Israel on a peer trip, then join us this summer as we go to Israel for free with Taglit-birthright Israel: Hillel. Registration opens Wednesday, February 8, 2006. Join us at Hillel all day Wednesday for free Israeli food, music and fun! Grab some food if you have already been to Israel, hope to go soon or don’t know when you will go. Free food is open to all. SPECIAL EVENTS
Kollel Shabbaton: Friday, Feb 10th-Sat, Feb 11th, 2006 at Hillel at 6pm. Friday night services and delicious dinner, Saturday morning services (with ArtScroll prayer book provided by Kollel) and a traditional lunch, informal discussion and dinner ending with Havdalah.  We need men for a minyan on Saturday morning!

Come to Cleveland for Presidents Day Weekend!:  Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the Agora Theater in Downtown Cleveland.  Come party with college kids from campuses all around Ohio for a night of Israeli hip-hop with Subliminal!  For those of you who may not know, Subliminal is one of the most celebrated hip -hop groups in Israel today!  Housing can be arranged if you do not live in Cleveland.  Pre-concert events with other colleges are in the works. Shabbat Around the World:  ISRAEL! Friday, February 24th, 2006 at Hillel at 6pm. Join us for services and/or a yummy Israeli dinner with special guest Amit from the Chaverim M’Yisrael program.  Come, eat, meet Amit and help him have a great time while visiting Miami!



REGULAR EVENTS!
Shabbat services and free dinner: The next Shabbat service and free dinner will be on Friday, February 10th at Hillel.  For questions or to volunteer to help with services email Rosie Landau (landaura@muohio.edu ) or Ilya Verzub (verzubi@muohio.edu ). Dinner is graciously supported by a grant from the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. Sponsorship of a Shabbat dinner is also available. Please contact Amy (director@muhillel.org ) for more information or to sponsor a Shabbat dinner.
*At the moment we are not planning on having Shabbat services the Friday of President’s Day Weekend, however if you will be in town and would like to have us put something together, please email Amy at Director@muhillel.org.

Do you need a quiet place to study? Hillel is available to you for studying anytime on any day of the week, to make sure that you can get into the building after hours, contact a member of the Association of Jewish Students Exec Board.

AJS Meetings will be held weekly on Thursday nights at 7pm.  All are welcome to attend.



JEWISH LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Weekly Torah Study – Fridays at 2:30 pm.
Do you want to learn more about the Torah (our Bible) or deepen your connection to it? Great. Join Amy and Jeremy for their weekly informal discussion Fridays at 2:30 pm. All levels and exposures to Torah study welcome. Questions? Contact Amy (director@muhillel.org / 523-5190).
 
Discovering Judaism happens weekly at Hillel at 7:15pm, led by the Cincinnati Kollel. Come for learning, discussion, and free dinner! The next DJ session is February 6th, and will take place every Monday.

EYE ON ALUMNI PRESENTED BY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND MUSF
On February 6th at 7:00PM in the Shriver Multi-Purpose Room, the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) is hosting Eye on Alumni.  Eye on Alumni is designed to give you insight about different career paths after Miami University.  MUSF invites back prominent young alumni to share success stories, answer questions, and offer advice about what it takes to excel in today’s work force.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR ISRAEL TRIP
Are you from Cincinnati? Do your parents live in Cincinnati? If so, there is a significant amount of funding available for you to go to Israel (even if you have been before). The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati offers college students who graduated from Cincinnati area high schools (or whose parents reside in the Cincinnati area) grants of $3,000 for travel to Israel. Peer programs are covered, including a variety of programs from ulpans to ARMDI to Magen David to semester abroad studies.
