Applications are due on January 10, 2005 and may be downloaded from the Hillel website. All Jewish students at Miami are encouraged to consider applying.

JEWISH LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Discovering Judaism happens every Tuesday night at Hillel at 7:15pm, led by the Cincinnati Kollel. Come for learning, discussion, and free dinner! The last DJ session of the semester is 12/13.  [Jewspaper Password for 12/12-18 break is shekel]

Classes with Amy Greenbaum, our Director & Rabbinic Resource.
Amy offers informal, discussion oriented classes on Jewish topics twice monthly. There are no sessions remaining this semester. Sessions planned for next semester include: What Judaism says about Jesus? (By popular request, this class will be repeated), What Happens After we Die?, Judaism and Environmentalism. For topic suggestions or questions, please contact her at Director@muhillel.org.

WANTED: STUDENTS FOR REGULAR BABY SITTING AND JEWISH EDUCATION IN SPRING 2006.
We are looking for one or two students who wish to baby sit for our 4 and 6 year old children one or two afternoon's per week (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays) in the spring at our home in Oxford.  A portion of the time baby sitting would be spent on Jewish education topics: Hebrew language, Jewish holidays, Jewish-related arts and crafts, etc.  There is a possibility that there would be a couple more children for the Jewish education part of the afternoon (for more pay).  Your own transportation is preferred but not required.  Please contact Rob Abowitz at abowitrn@muohio.edu to express your interest or get more information.

SPENDING WINTER BREAK IN FLORIDA? COME TO A PARTY!
Will you be in Florida during Winter Break? You are invited to an awesome Chanukah party with Hillels of Palm Beach and Broward County on Tuesday the 27th of December. You can get all of the information by calling Joel Marcovitch at 561 503 7431.

TZEDEK – MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
Help with Katrina relief: we have Mardi Gras beads to sell on campus. The profit will go to helping with the relief effort. Want to help by buying or selling? Are you part of another organization that might want to help? Contact Jeremy at 513 523 5190 or fellow@Muhillel.org
Hillel is working with local and national agencies to provide the most effective assistance to those affected by Hurricane Katrina in the Jewish and non-Jewish communities. Our Hillel is joining with Hillels across the country to raise funds to assist the relief effort as well as doing short and long-term volunteering. Email or speak with Amy (director@muhillel.org / 523-5190) for more specifics on how you can help.

ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK with MIAMI U
ASB is an organization that has trips to various cities in the states where you do about 25 hours of service the week, but there is also a lot of free time to go and explore the area.  This year we are planning on traveling to Texas, not sure yet which city, possibly San Antonio or Austin, and also to New Orleans.  The previous spring break a group of students went to New Orleans and this year we are going to go and help with hurricane relief. We are not yet sure of the cost of the trip, probably around $100 - $150 and the rest is covered through the organization.  It is a fun time to work with others and the trip is designed by the people going, you choose the service and other activities you want to do.  Email me back and let me know if you are interested in participating in one of the trips or have any questions.  After the break we will start meeting and figuring out the trip.  Thanks!

Jeremy says: It’s my job to figure out what the Jewish community and the Miami community at large wants to see happening on campus. Send me a line at 513-523-5190 or email me a Fellow@muhillel.org and let me know what’s best for you.

AN INVIATION FROM YOUR DIRECTOR
