High Holy Days

Get ready to celebrate the High Holy Days with Hillel.

We will share together in meals (dinner before each night of Rosh Hashanah and before the Yom Kippur fast, lunches each day of Rosh Hashanah and FREE Break-the-Fast at the end of Yom Kippur), prayer, friendship and community. (Meals are $5 for students, $10 for community/faculty.

All services are open to the entire community. Services are free for students, $36 for community/faculty for all services.

The High Holy Days are officially recognized holidays by Miami University. Download this letter for your professors then contact Tal or Karen and they will sign it for you to help you get an excused absence from class.

About Our Services

Hillel sponsors Progressive (a mix of Reform and Conservative traditions) services on campus for High Holidays. Arrangements can be made for those who wish to attend services at the Conservative congregation in Hamilton. All students are welcome to participate in the service. No previous experience nor Hebrew knowledge required. If you would like to participate in the service, please contact Tal at director@muhillel.org or on the phone 513-523-5190.

Hillel is located at 11 East Walnut Street
Sesquicentennial Chapel is located at the corner of Spring and Maple street. (Across the street from the Shriver Center.)
