Association of Jewish Students: Program Board

What do we do? The Program Board of the Association of Jewish Students creates and plans programs for our Hillel. The Program Board is comprised of students with various interests, including sports, Greek life, women's programs, United Jewish Communities, tzedek (social justice), social events and more. Each of the subgroups of Hillel is invited to have a representative on the Program Board. Interested groups should contact the Vice President of the Program Board to be added. Do you have an idea for a program? You can go to anyone one the Program Board, Executive Board or our staff. By the way, suggesting a program does not mean that you have to be in charge of it. Take a chance, make a suggestion.

Program Planning Sheet - must be completed for all programs.

Plans for this year: My number one goal as an Association of Jewish Students Program Board member is to incorporate and make everyone feel they have a place in AJS. No matter what a student's background, Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, or just interested in learning more about Judaism, my main goal is to uphold an open and respectful environment for the students at Miami University.
Some programs I would like to see our organization produce are ones that allow students on campus to think about what it means to be an American Jew. I believe we could do more programs that incorporate Jewish traditions, old and new. With the goal of providing programming geared to include a wide range of members of the Miami community, the Association of Jewish Students Executive Board, Program Board and various programming committees are excited for a year full of religious, cultural, and social programming designed for you.
I am thrilled to continue to have the opportunity to give back to the Oxford community. I am very excited for the upcoming year! I look forward to seeing you at future events!

Program Board provides me with the opportunity to develop leadership experience in the Jewish community, expand the Jewish community of Oxford and put my creativity to use! I'm looking forward to a great year with everyone!

Course of Study: Strategic Communication

I am involved with AJS because I enjoy attending the programs and events and want to give back by helping to plan some of them. Also, I enjoy the friendships that I've made through AJS, and it will be fun and rewarding to work with such an enthusiastic group of people. I hope to bring programming to AJS that both male and female students will relate to while keeping our Jewish heritage focus. I'm looking forward to an exciting year of programming for AJS.
