Holocaust Remembrance 2007
Program Information:
Friday, April 13th, 2007
- 6pm- Shabbat services and free dinner at Harris Dining Hall (South Quad, parking is available)
The service will have specific Holocaust readings, a keynote Holocaust-survivor speaker, and an extra special Shabbat meal immediately following the service.
Sunday, April 15th, 2007
- There is a community-wide Holocaust remembrance ceremony in Cincinnati at a local synagogue at 2pm. Amy Greenbaum, director of Hillel at Miami University (director@muhillel.org) will be coordinating rides. If interested, email Amy.
Monday, April 16th, 2007
- Look for events happening all day on campus.
During peak class hours there will be students passing out material at both the seal and Shriver.
- Noon in 001 Alumni Hall
Professor Gerardo Brown-Manrique will be speaking about
"LIVES LOST, LIVES SAVED: Victor Fürth, Rudolf Fränkel, Their Families, and Their Clients, in Interwar and Wartime Europe"
- 7pm in Leonard Theater (Peabody Hall on Western Campus)
Walking Theater Project will be doing a performance about Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and Miami University
- Immediately following the performance, a Holocaust-related movie will be shown with a discussion led by Professors Mia Biran and Sven-Erik Rose.
