Brave Miss World: A Screening and Discussion Brave Miss World is an award-winning documentary film that shares the experience of Linor Abargil, an Israeli lawyer and a beauty queen won the Miss World contest of 1998 just six weeks after she was abducted, stabbed, and raped. Since then, Linor became a global advocate and vowed to fight for justice, break the silence and speak out against rape. Brave Miss World explores the trauma of sexual assault through one young woman’s journey from teenage rape victim to Miss World to empowered lawyer and activist. Following the film, director, Cecilia Peck will speak about what motivated her to make a film addressing this issue, her experience working with Linor Abargil, running the Brave Miss World outreach campaign against sexual assault, and lead a Q&A around the issues of rape and assault awareness and prevention, bystander responsibility, activism, etc.
